Music for Radio Broadcast

IMRO and MCPS licences are required by any service wishing to broadcast musical works and record music into programmes, idents, trailers and generic station promos.

IMRO royalty rates are calculated as the higher of a fixed annual fee and a percentage of revenue, subject to the level of music broadcast by the station.

Please note the IMRO Radio licence covers the broadcast of IMRO and Affiliated Societies repertoire on radio services transmitted from the Republic of Ireland. The MCPS Ireland Radio Licence covers the copying of MCPS repertoire onto databases and servers for the purpose of providing the broadcast service. It also covers the copying of MCPS commercial music repertoire into programme material and trailers and MCPS production music repertoire into programme and non-programme content such as trailers and station idents.
